Bite-sized reading and activities for online learning

Designed for client Lift Education, Kiwi Nuggets was created as a response to covid-19 lockdown and the urgent home schooling requirements. Lift Education made this available free to NZ schools. It is also available on the Ministry of Education distance learning online space.

The brief

Creating a digital reading resource that could be easily distributed and widely accessible, that were able to be completed by students independently at home within a half hour timeframe.

The solution

Utilising google slides as a digital platform meant that we could make these easily accessible to schools, as well as using a software suite that students were familiar with. Making sure that students weren’t overwhelmed by information, and could easily navigate through each activity was a top priority for the design. The solution - creating a consistent activity structure, locking elements as image backgrounds and creating text fields for students to type in directly.
